Salient features of Completed Projects
IRCON has executed a large number of Electronic (Computer Based) Interlocking and Relay based Interlocking Signaling projects including CTC and Automatic Train protection (ATP) systems in India.
It has also successfully executed large number of communication projects including OFC based communication networks for Indian Railways.
Currently, IRCON is executing Railway Signaling & Telecom and Tunnel communication projects in India.

Signaling
- Electronic interlocking system at Kalisindh Thermal Power Plant, Jhalawar for RRVUNL, Jaipur (US$ 1.7 million).
- Design, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of Electronic Interlocking based Signaling system & Telecommunication system of New B.G. Rail Link at 15 stations in Quazigund Baramulla section (120 kms) of Northern Railway. The work involved mainly SSI at 15 stations along with tokenless block working, Block Proving Digital Axle Counter system, LC gates, IPS, networked Data Loggers, SDH based Optical Fibre Transmission system & equipment along with Quad cable based communication system for inter-station block working, Level crossing & Control Communication, Digital Exchange, VHF communication system etc. over the section of 120 kms Rs. 608 Million.
- Axle Counter based Block signaling for 26 stations on electrified route in Kota Nagda section on Indian Railway (1990-94) Rs.37 million (US$ 1.2 million).
- Relay Interlocking at 32 stations for Captive Railway networks (1997-2002) Rs.335 million (US$ 9.2 million).
- Solid state Interlocking System at Simhadri for 2 stations of Power Generation Company (NTPC) (2001-2002) US$ 1.6 million.
- Relay based Panel Interlocking System at Talcher for 4 stations of Power Generation Company (NTPC) US$ 0.96 million.
- Design, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of Signaling & Telecommunication system to suit 25KV, AC, 50 Hz, Single Phase RE in Mugalsarai Sultanpur Utratia section of Northern Railway. (Rs. 327.12 Crores)
- New Electronic Interlocking system (10 stations) with OFC based communication system in connection with doubling of track in Hajipur – Bachhawara section of East Central Railway.
- Provision of new Relay based Route Relay Interlocking system (RRI) for R&D and In Plant Yard at Nabinagar for NTPC.
Telecom
- SDH based Optical Fibre Transmission system & equipment along with Quad cable based communication system for inter-station block working, Level crossing & Control Communication, Digital Exchange, VHF communication system etc. in Quazigund Baramulla section (120 kms) of Northern Railway. Rs. 179.7 million.
- Telecommunication facilities for Gas pipeline Authorities (1999-01) Rs. 39 million, (US$ 0.9 million).
- OFC Communication on Ahmedabad-Baroda-Surat section of Indian Railways for commercial exploitation-300 Kms (1999-2001) Rs. 150 million (US$ 3.75 million).
- Supply & Installation of MUX and associated equipment for Optical Fibre Communication system for Indian Railways on Kharagpur Khurda Road section along East Coast mainline for 74 stations, Rs.83.4 million (US$ 2.2 million).
- System, Design, Supply, Installation and Commissioning of MUX, OLTE and other associated indoor equipment for Optical Fibre Communication system for Indian Railways on Khurda Road - Vishakapatnam section along East-Coast mainline for 74 stations for Rs.83.4 million (US$ 2.2 million).
- OFC based communication system in Jaipur - Ahmedabad section of 690 Kms of Indian Railways - US$ 2.5 million.
- OFC based indoor & outdoor communication system on Salem-Bangalore Section of South West Railway (195Km), Ballarshah-Kazipet-Bibi Nagar Section of South Central Railway (335Km), Malda-Rajgram Section of Eastern Railways (89Km) - US$ 4.06 Million.
- Modification of Panel Interlocking based Signaling System (33 stations) and modification / Improvement of Telecommunication system to suit 25 KVAC electrification in Mathura - Kasganj - Kalyanpur section (338 km) of NER.

- Detailed design, engineering and execution and commissioning of Electronic interlocking system (15 Stations), OFC based Communication System for new BG Electrified Single/Double Line between Kharsia to Korba (185 km)
- Detailed design, engineering and execution and commissioning of Electronic interlocking system (10 Stations & 6 IBS), OFC based Communication System for new BG Electrified Double Line between Gevra Road to Pendra Road (135 km).
- Supply, Installation, Testing & commissioning of Electronic Interlocking based Signaling System with In-built EI block working (02 Station), MSDAC Track circuits, PA system, CCTV Surveillance, VHF, STM-1, OFC based Communication System and Passenger Amenities for new MG/BG line for Agartala - Akhaura (Bangladesh) New Rail link Project.
- Design, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of Electronic Interlocking based Signalling system & Telecommunication system at 3 stations in Quazigund - Ex.Dharam section (56 kms approx.) of Northern Railway.
- Design, Supply, Erection, Testing and Commissioning of CCTV, radio communication and emergency response system for 3 nos. of Major Tunnels in this section. Railway and Emergency Call Service Telephone, CCTV, Tunnel Radio & PA System in Tunnels on Dharam - Banihal section. of USBRL Project.
- Design, Supply, Provision of Electronic Interlocking based Signaling System of 03 stations including one big yard for NMDC Nagarnar near Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh.
- Detailed design, engineering, execution and commissioning of Electronic interlocking system at 4 Yards (Wagon Tippler, R&D yard, Junction Cabin and Dulanga Mines yard) for provision of new line for NTPC Darlipali in the state of Odisha.
- New Electronic Interlocking system (12 stations) with OFC based communication system (124.304 RKM) in connection with doubling of track in Kiul-Gaya section of East Central Railway.
- New Electronic Interlocking system (4 stations) with OFC based communication system (14 KM) in connection with doubling of track in Rampur Dumra Tal Rajendrapul section of East Central Railway.
- New Electronic Interlocking system (29 stations) with OFC based communication system in connection with doubling of track & modification/improvement of Telecommunication system to suit 25 KVAC RE in Katni- Sigrauli section (260 km) of West Central Railway.
- Modification, Supply, Installation, Testing & Commissioning of Centralized Electronic Interlocking based Signaling System, in place of mechanical signaling at 5 Stations in Gajraula Muzzampur Narain section, 6 Stations in Aligarh Chandausi Section and 9 Stations in Unnao Balamau -Sitapur section along with associated works at adjoining stations/sections of Moradabad Division of Northern Railway on Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Mode. – Rs. 241.34 Cr.
- Supply, Installation, Testing and commissioning of Integrated Tunnel Communication Systems, OFC based industrial grade network system including laying of OFC & other cables for Railway network which includes tunnels and stations in Jiribam - Khongsang section of Jiribam - Imphal new Railway Line project. (Rs. 144.16 Cr.)
- Survey, design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of TOWERs for Kavach and other associated works over Central Railway. (Rs. 194.46 Cr.)
- Survey, design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of KAVACH equipment and other associated works over 778 RKM of Bengaluru and Mysuru Divisions of South Western Railway.
- Provision of Remote Diagnostic & Predictive Maintenance System in RE-MD of JP, MD-PNU of AII, RE-BTI of BKN and MTD-LUNI of JU Division over North Western Railway.
- Design, manufacture, SITC of Microprocessor based EI system (with inbuilt Block Instrument in EI) (RDSO Spec No. RDSO/SPN/192/2019 Ver. 2 with latest amend) at AHO, HTD, ROS, NSD, JWS, BDW, SGW, BJNR, RPI, SSR, RLR, LMA, DWL, MDL, BHL, MDPA, HMG, GGR, DET, CNA stations along with SITC of various indoor & outdoor Signaling & Telecom Systems/gears. The work also includes provision of MSDAC based Automatic Block Signaling system in AHO-NSD section (There shall be one auto hut between HTD-ROS Section, rest of the automatic section shall be catered from stations) and addition/alteration in the existing EI (Kyosan make) at CNA Jn. (RTM Division, WR) in c/w doubling of AHO-CAN section. The work includes excavation of trench, laying of cables in RCC half round pipes/GI Pipe/DWC/HDPE/trench etc., casting of foundations of MACLS Signals, A/cases, supply installation of Pt. machines, A/cases, MACLS signals, ELB along with ESB, TC equipment (DC Track Circuit & single MSDAC in all stations yards and dual MSDAC in automatic Block sections i.e. AHO-HTD, HTD-ROS, ROS-NSD block sections), Earthing, Data loggers, ELD, FACS, AFDAS, IoT based RDPMS etc. The work also includes Signaling and telecom work for shifting of existing S&T gears (LC Gates, Signals and location boxes, S&T cables, HASSDAC, etc.) for removal of infringements of S&T gears coming in doubling alignment in c/w doubling of AHO-CNA section of Ajmer division on NWR. The work includes Shifting, SITC of Telecom indoor and outdoor equipment including trenching, laying, jointing and termination of 24/48 fibre OFC cable and 6 Quad cable along with provision of passenger amenities and other telecom works in c/w doubling of AHO-CNA Jn section of Ajmer division on NWR.
